GameMaker Studio 1.4 + Progress

My introduction to the program Game Maker Studio went smoothly, as I’ve previously dealt with a little bit of programming myself. Lucky for me, I was able to follow through the lecture fine and learned a few basic things concerning sprites, objects and rooms, even going so far as understanding the horizontal and vertical movement codes (initializing variables for the player object, x and y values, if statements, while statements, collisions and so on).

I referred to my Character Mood Board to test out my first few character sprites, which were the idle sprite (of my character standing still), and the profile view sprites that I learned to flip back and forth depending on the direction it’s going in. In addition to this, I’ve also added wall objects around the space to test out collision masks, ensuring my character refrains from getting stuck, allowing for smooth game play.
